Meet Dr. HORN

Benjamin Horn, DDS, ms

Dr. Benjamin Horn was born in Mill Valley, California, just north of San
Francisco. The son of lifelong educators, he is one of five siblings, all of
whom have pursued careers in medicine or dentistry. After shadowing
his brother, also a periodontist, Dr. Horn knew that periodontics was the
specialty he wanted to pursue.
He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of
Science in Systems Engineering and went on to flight school, where he
was selected to fly the F/A-18. Following a distinguished 12-year career
as a Naval Aviator, he transitioned to dentistry, earning his Doctor of
Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of
Dentistry in 2021 before joining the U.S. Navy Dental Corps.
Dr. Horn completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in
General Dentistry and immediately began his periodontics residency at
the Naval Postgraduate Dental School at Walter Reed National Military
Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. There, he researched various
periodontal prognostic schemes and earned both a Certificate in
Periodontology and a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology. He continues to
serve as a Navy periodontist and resides in Annapolis with his wife and
three children.
When he is not performing surgery, Dr. Horn enjoys spending time with
his family, coaching and playing lacrosse, and mountain biking. He also
enjoys getting out on the water. Dr. Horn’s favorite local place to fly out

of is Bay Bridge Airport, as he still carries a love of flying from Naval
Aviation.
